Consulting Services
Training session with Michel Musilikare of The Access Project; Augustin Twagiramunga and Pascal Gasheja of Millenium Villages, Kigali, Rwanda
The growth and sustainability (or well-being) of non-profits and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) depends on financial accountability and transparency. Donors, boards and auditing agencies expect meticulous records of all financial activities. As well, the transparency of financial reporting and analyses are critical to the day-to-day management of an organization’s operations. Amid an environment of limited financial resources, where the goal is to allocate as much of these resources to their constituents, non-profits and NGOs have to provide a corporate administrative and financial structure.
The Constantakis Consulting Group can support non-profits and NGOs in all stages of growth from the newly created to the relatively mature organization, including the following general types of consultations:
Conception, evaluation and transition of financial systems
For the fledgling organization it is critical to create easy-to-use and flexible budgeting, accounting and reporting systems that allow for the gathering of detailed data and reports in a variety of different ways for different users, including board members, management, grantors and auditing agencies. By starting off with proper budgeting, accounting and reporting systems, using best practices methodology, an organization starts its existence with financial systems that will contribute to and grow with the mission of the organization, not impede it.
Specifically, we can help with the design or redesign, organization, implementation and analysis of the following types of reports:
- Budget and forecast reporting
- Cash flow projection reporting
- Financial statements
- Project reporting
- Grant reporting
For mature organizations who do not feel they are getting all the information and reporting from existing financial structures that they need and expect, we are available to evaluate your systems and recommend the best possible financial system for your organization.
If a new or updated financial system is chosen, we will support the seamless and successful implementation of new systems including the migration of technologies and formats, aid in the revision of internal procedures and train your personnel to use the new systems to their fullest capacity.
Training executive, financial, development and operational/project personnel
Training session with Margaret Shafer, Cinereach,
New York, USA
For all organizations, new and established, the hiring, training and retention of executive, financial, fundraising and operational/project personnel is important to keeping the staff engaged and the organization healthy and vital.
Once the proper financial systems are in place, it is important to provide executive, financial, fundraising and operational/project personnel with the appropriate level of training so that your entire staff knows the new requirements of the financial systems and also knows what reports and information are available within the new systems.
Individual trainings are available for any staff member relative to their relationship to the financial systems. Extensive training is available for bookkeepers, fiscal managers and senior financial and executive staff as needed.
Once staff has been trained, we will help guide in building the appropriate internal controls and procedures required to maintain and define the roles of all staff members with relation to the financial systems. It will also define the flow of revenues and expenses through the organization.
Follow up, interim evaluation and re-trainings are also available.
